A Lifetime of Music and Education

Ben Wray is an experienced music director and educator with a demonstrated history of working in both academic and professional music settings. He holds a Master’s of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Arkansas-Monticello, a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Kansas, with an emphasis in Choral and Vocal Pedagogy, and is a National Board Certified Teacher in Early/Middle Childhood vocal music.

Ben’s career spans over two decades and includes public and private school teaching, private studio instruction, worship leadership, accompaniment, jazz education, and collaborative performance. He currently serves as an Adjunct Instructor of Jazz Piano at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. His approach blends strong technical foundations with musical expression, helping students and collaborators grow with clarity and confidence.

Currently, Ben also serves as a music teacher in the Blue Valley School District, while offering private piano and vocal instruction and performing throughout the Kansas City Metro area.
